Neglect

Oh blog. I've neglected you for the last couple of weeks. I haven't really felt well enough to sit on the computer and do anything. I even had to take a small leave of absence from school for a few weeks until I feel better. Truth is, I actually feel worse now, so back to the doctor tomorrow!  I guess that's the price you pay when you get old. I better just pull up my big girl depends and deal with it though. ;)

Anyways, 11 more days until my little one turns a year old. I am having a hard time coming to terms with the fact that she's been here an entire year already. This time last year, I could barely contain my excitement, knowing I would meet my new daughter any day. I watched her grow from a helpless little bundle of adorable, into an independent little person who communicates and is mobile (very).

I took the cutest one year pictures of her, but I'm not allowed to post them for another week or so. he he. I love the way they came out though! We did however have a cake smash shoot that I can post a couple of pictures of! It was so messy fun. lol.

Okay, I have so much going on right now, that I probably wont get back to updating for another couple of weeks. I hope everyone is doing well!

What do you want to be when you grow up?

I'm sure that when I was young, I wanted to be a doctor, a lawyer, or something equally as glamorous. I never thought that well into my 30's, I would still be struggling with the decision of what career path I wanted to follow. While I am about 9 months away from my degree, I still have no idea what I want to do with it. I am close to earning my second psychology degree. With this, I have many doors that open for me and many opportunities to use it. Up until late last year, I was pretty clear cut on what I wanted to do with it. I wanted to do addiction counseling and help addicts overcome a terrible disease. However.... I believe it is when I became pregnant and my hormones had me crying over dropping a piece of paper and then in a complete rage because I couldn't get a lid off of a jar, that I had an epiphany. I’m sure many of you have seen this image online. Whether it be Pinterest, Facebook, or various other social media sites. What kind of feelings do you have when you look at this? My first reaction was….Yay curves! I’m a bigger girl, so everyone should accept me and find me attractive for who I am. I should be considered normal and that’s what every man should be attracted to. I’m not a small by any means, nor have I ever been. I have had my moments where I got down to an acceptable weight and my BMI was within “normal” range. Although, thin and Ellie have never been mentioned in the same sentence. I looked at the pic again and let the words sink in. “Real men”….. what is a REAL man? I thought all men were real.
